Striving for a Better Clark County
Clark County established a home rule charter to better structure the county's operations and guidelines in a way that can be conducive to everybody. In 2020, we will be electing 15 people to the Charter Review Commission, a group of people devoted to bettering the charter. After 2020, a new commission will be elected only every ten years. This is why it is important to elect someone who knows Clark County to heart and is looking to the future. I'm a lifelong Clark County resident, and I know what our county needs for greatness.
My platform is as follows:
1. Implement Ranked-Choice voting in local elections.
2. Replace the elected county council chair with an elected at-large councilmember and a rotating chair position. We also need to explore a 7-seat council.
3. Make the County Executive an elected rather than appointed position.
4. Introduce stricter censuring and recall processes for discrimination in government, as well as stricter nondiscrimination language.
